Dogs in The City – a Talking Points Lesson Plan for English Reading & Speaking
This is part of the Talking Points lesson series.
You may find that many of your students have a pet dog – so this lesson plan could be of great interest to them.
This lesson is all about people keeping pet dogs in the city.
Is it cruel? Or is it perfectly acceptable?
The pet dog owners may argue that their dog is very happy. But others may say that it is inhumane – the dog is not happy and unable to run around enjoying itself as it may in the countryside.
The lesson can be used in your English/ESL class but also in an IELTS speaking class.
This lesson is probably not suitable for students who practice Islam.
The lesson comes complete with:
- a 500-word article
- a table of essential vocabulary
- a big list of questions for discussion
Start the class with the three opening questions and then do the reading. Then you can go through all the vocabulary – or set it as homework for the students to do later.
Then there is a big list of questions that are designed to get your students talking.
It comes in easy to use PDF format, ideal for printing for your needs. Use it again and again for your English/ESL classes.
