Is Marriage Outdated?
In many countries, the concept of marriage is sacred. Something that most students will undertake at some point in their immediate adult lives.
So this lesson plan will probably create much debate as it challenges the idea of getting married.
You may find that the class is perfectly divided in their opinions – some may think everyone should get married, while others may believe marriage to be too old-fashioned and a waste of time.
This lesson is perfect for your English/ESL class – and also IELTS speaking.
The lesson comes complete with:
- introductory questions
- a 500-word article
- reading comprehension questions
- a table of essential vocabulary
- a big list of questions for discussion
- a group speaking activity
- a debate activity
- a writing exercise
Start the class with the three opening questions and then do the reading. Then you can go through all the vocabulary – or set it as homework for the students to do later.
Then there is a big list of questions that are designed to get your students talking.
It comes in easy to use PDF format, ideal for printing for your needs. Use it again and again for your English/ESL classes.
